SARA Meeting Saturday, 11 May

The next San Antonio Romance Authors meeting will be held Saturday, 11 May at 10:00-12:30 in the Crown of Life Lutheran Church classroom.  The address is 19291 Stone Oak Parkway, San Antonio, TX  78258

In addition to the general business meeting, author Heather Long will speak about Ten Things I Wish I Knew Before Becoming An Author.   She’ll teach us how to prepare to write, using character profiles, research etc.

Heather’s Bio: A national best selling author, Heather Long lives in Texas with her family and their menagerie of animals. In addition to military romance, Heather writes a wide variety of romance from paranormal historical western romance to contemporary romance and romantic suspense. She loves characters and the stories they have to tell. As a child, Heather skipped picture books and enjoyed the Harlequin romance novels by Penny Jordan and Nora Roberts that her grandmother read to her. Heather believes that laughter is as important to life as breathing and that the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus are very real. In the meanwhile, she is hard at work on her next novel.

GLilianaHart7_01uest speaker Liliana Hart will share  how she’s become a runaway success using self-publishing and her own marketing savvy.  Liliana’s books have won The Daphne Du Maurier, The Suzannah, The Linda Howard Award of Excellence, The Maggie, and many others. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America and Mystery Writers of America.

SARAs on Fire II – Turning up the Heat!

The San Antonio Romance Authors have been sizzling since last September when SARAs on Fire was posted.  

We were hot then.

SARA:

SARA hosted Kristin Lamb in October and Tracy Wolff in November

SARAs appeared on San Antonio Living on WOAI TV on 8 February. On camera were Patricia Walters-Fischer, Willa Blair, Sasha Summers and Gina L. Maxwell.  Teri Wilson and Lupe Gonzalez provided off-camera support.  Shelly Miles invited us back for another visit this summer.

SARAs held a group booksigning on 9 February at Barnes & Noble at the Shops at La Cantera with Patricia W. Fischer, Sophie Greyson (Joni Hahn), Willa Blair, Sasha Summers, Lisa Pietsh, Tara West and Gina L. Maxwell.  B&N invited us back to make this an annual event around Valentine’s Day.

There will be a signing for Alaskan Hero at Barnes & Noble La Cantera on Saturday, May 4 at 2:00 pm. And on Thursday, May 2 from 5-7 pm, there will be a pet-friendly book signing/yappy hour at Woof Gang Bakery in Alon Town Centre on NW Military Drive.

Sleigh Bell Sweethearts releases in November from Harlequin Love Inspired.

In December, her story “Two to Tango” will be included in Harlequin’s non-fiction Christmas anthology, A KISS UNDER THE MISTLETOE.

Unleashing Mr. Darcy will be released from Harlequin HQN in January 2014 as a trade paperback, followed by Unmasking Juliet in June 2014.

Teri will be the moderator for Jane Porter’s “Play Nice with Your Dragon” workshop at the RWA National Conference in Atlanta this summer.
