Linda Carroll-Bradd grew up as a member of a five-member family but loads of people thought her parents had only two daughters. Why? Because she loved to read and was usually lying on her bed instead of playing outside in the neighborhood. So after years of clerical experience, she decided to use the creative side of her brain and learn how to write one of the romances she loved reading. Easier said than done. Twelve long years and many contest finals later, and with the help of various critique groups (yay, Kharities), she received her first call and had a confession story published. She was hooked. In addition to working as a freelance editor, Linda writes contemporary and historical stories that are on the sweeter side with a touch of humor, many with a tie to her adopted home of Texas.

Ever since I wrote a play in fourth grade about the Loch Ness Monster–from the monster’s point of view, I’ve been fascinated with telling stories. I’ve been to the top of the world and seen the lowest moments when I worked as a pediatric and adult trauma nurse. Before my medical experience, I worked as a bartender, waitress, and prep cook. Add in my jobs as a bill collector, secretary, video store clerk, and checker at a hardware store and the characters for my stories won’t stop. I’ve met movie celebrities, music legends, sports heroes, and fantastic writers. Been under the sea, floated in the sky, sang the National Anthem at major league sporting events, acted a bit, and played some good music on my drums and guitar. During all that time, I tucked those adventures and moments in my head to write about one day.

From the first book L. M. Gonzalez took home from school, she has been reading. From the first moment she picked up a pencil, she has been writing, mostly in her diary. Her first love was romance books. One summer she read Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers. This led her to write her first story and she has been writing stories ever since. L. M. has been a member of San Antonio Romance Authors since 2001 serving in several capacities, most recently as Newsletter Editor. With several years experience in the medical field, L. M. can’t help but incorporate this background into her stories. She loves to feature Latinas, their lives, their loves and the fascinating men they meet, sometimes in their own backyards.
From the first moment I saved the knight in shining armor at age eight, I fell in love with romance. Since then, I have created many stories, and now I am excited to bring the best of them to you. My main love is the Regency historical. I find something almost magical about the time and place. I also enjoy adding a touch of suspense to my books. I am a small business owner and have an MBA. I am fond of cruises, train travel, and chocolate. My husband swears I go on trips just to avoid doing housework. He’s probably right. I hope you enjoy my books!
By day, Joni Hahn keeps her secret decoder ring hidden while she works as a mild-mannered contemporary romance author. She believes the world can never have too many superheroes, and anxiously waits for the call when one will need help saving the world… or getting into his costume. Joni was born with a hopelessly tender heart and believes there is nothing on earth more exhilarating than falling in love. A native Texan, she thinks cowboys are the epitome of masculinity, and that country music is the other soul music.
Joni is a member of The Authors Guild, the Romance Writers of America and its Published Authors Network. She is a member of several RWA sub-chapters and has served in several board positions with the San Antonio Romance Authors. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys reading, going to movies and concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
Books 1 through 6 in Joni’s sci fi romantic suspense series, The D.I.R.E. Agency, are available now. Look for the series novella coming in late 2015, and the epic series finale, Book 7, Agent U7: Keegan in 2016!
(2013 Golden Heart Finalist) Before becoming a writer, Gail Hart spent a few years as an Air Force JAG, then settled in as a lawyer and manager for the U.S. government. Despite what opposing counsel sometimes said about her briefs, she didn’t write any fiction until later in her career. She must have been destined to be a romance writer, though, because even the law review article she wrote had “sex” in the title. She spent most of her life on the east coast but now lives in San Antonio, where she doesn’t miss the cold.
Writing is my passion – but I can’t pick just one genre. I’ve written numerous children’s stories and skits, inspirational pieces about family life and faith, plus sweet romance and women’s fiction. I like to be challenged and stretched in my writing. Since I love cozy mysteries, I’ve just completed my first outline for a mystery novel.
My previously published works have appeared in Ruminate Magazine, Pockets Magazine, The Secret Place, and Upper Room. My short stories on family life have been published in multiple book anthologies — the most notable being Chicken Soup for the Soul – Miracles Happen, Heaven Touching Earth, and 21 Days of Love. I am also slated to be one of the authors included in Gifts from Heaven, compiled by James Stuart Bell in 2017.

Storytelling is in my blood. I didn’t clue in to this until recently, when I saw my dad re-enacting a story from his years working on the railroad, and I realized he has been telling stories my whole life. How much of these stories are true and how much are embellished, I’ll probably never know for sure. What I do know is that he needs to tell stories, and I inherited that need from him. I have a degree in professional writing but needed a way to support myself after college (until, of course, I wrote the great American novel). I got into court reporting to pay the bills and strayed from what I truly love. I never should have stopped writing. Many years later, here I am, getting back to what makes me feel passionate–storytelling with a huge helping of romance mixed in.

Roe Valentine was born into the right family. Not only does the name Valentine suit her, but her grandmother, unknowingly, introduced the young Ms. Valentine to her first romance novel. She hasn’t read anything else since. She calls herself a romantic at heart and believes that love conquerors all. She attempted to write her first contemporary romance novel when she was nineteen. That attempt didn’t take, but her story has a happy ending. She kept pursuing the dream until she landed her first publishing contract in 2013. When not busy writing or reading love stories, Roe can often be found in a yoga class or chatting with friends at her favorite coffee shop. Enjoying margaritas with some girl-talk isn’t unusual for her either. For a night in, she watches reruns of her favorite TV shows and, of course, romantic comedies on her Roku, usually with a glass of wine.
